Carol began her career in women’s health in 2006, initially as a Licensed Midwife. Her work was characterized by a holistic, comprehensive, and compassionate approach to caring for women during their childbearing years. Carol’s dedication extended beyond direct patient care; she actively lobbied at the State House to establish professional licensure for direct-entry midwives and served on the boards of both the Idaho Midwifery Council and the State Board of Midwifery.
Despite her passion, Carol faced burnout and significant personal changes, making continuing in midwifery increasingly challenging. This made her reevaluate her career path and transition to a new role. Through her personal journey, Carol discovered the profound impact of the counseling relationship and recognized a need for counselors attuned to the complexities of motherhood and women’s health.
Carol’s unique background as a midwife informs her approach to counseling. She integrates her understanding of women’s challenges with a holistic perspective on health. She believes that mental and physical health are interconnected and that true healing involves addressing the whole self. Carol’s experience and insight drive her commitment to supporting women in achieving better health, well-being, and happiness.
Carol has also continued serving her community as a board member for the Idaho chapter of Postpartum Support International. This organization is dedicated to bringing support and awareness for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and breaking the stigma.
